Hazmat!
Last 3 days I just went for my Hazmat course. It’s about when there’s a terriost attack with chemical agents how are we suppose to do and react. I must say that the 1st 2 days are BORING. Just sit there and listen to those drs talking about history of differents agents, what sort of effects we will get. Geez… But it definitely important as in case of war, we need to protect ourselves…
3rd day was fun, kinda… We were made to try these suit which suppose to protect us from foreign agents which may in anyway harm our body. Do you know a pc game called "Counter-strike"? Yup, we dress like them… Haha! Will upload that pic soon. Anyway, we were asked to dressed full gear and walked into this chamber. The instructor will then burn the tear-gas. As we were full-gear, there’s nothing much till worry until he told us to remove our hood. That’s when you feel the burning sensation at your neck. After that we’re suppose to remove our mask, say our name and NRIC no., then walked out of the chamber. Man I tell you, once it’s my turn to remove the mask, I felt this burning and itchness on my face! God! After saying the essential things, I tried to open my eyes to remove myself from this torture room… Argh! Wrong move! My eyes are exposed to the tear-gas! I quickly closed my eyes and tried to walk out. Luckily the staff was there to guide me out… He asked me if I was ok… All I can do is gesture to him that I’m okay… Argh! I tell you my whole face and neck was burning and itchy. Tears started rolling down, mucous followed and my saliva drooled out of my mouth… It’s so unfeminie to spit in public but couldn’t help it! Started to cough alittle as I inhaled abit of the gas. 1 to 2 minutes later, I felt better… Very interesting experience…
Now I’m hazmat and basic trauma trained, perharps next time I can work as a paramedic! Haha~ -.-" Got to rest now…
